I was down in Bear Lake on Saturday talking to my wife on the phone at about 6:30 when something in the sky caught my attention - I saw what appeared to be a very bright satellite about 35-40 degrees above the horizon. It was about as bright as Venus has looked next to the moon in the recent mornings. Then I noticed two more lights to the right of it (about the same brightness as each other, though slightly dimmer than the first one I saw), forming something like a scalene triangle (thank you 5th grade math), with the brightest light in the back. Three lights travelling same direction (Southeast), same speed. After watching them for about 8-10 seconds, they all faded out far more quickly than I've ever seen a satellite fade, the first two fading at the same time, the third fading about a half of a second later. There was no sound that would have accompanied a plane and it wasn't moving fast enough to remain airborne if it was as close as it would have had to have been for the lights to be that far apart.
