While camping with my good friend and his wife (who are old navy veterans), at around midnight while hanging around the campfire, we saw and began to observe orange lights rising from the horizon from the west coming over the hills in a very odd fasion. the reddish orange lights were brighter than the normal airplane lights, with no distinct flashing lights to indicate as an aircraft, it appeared to be pulsating like a fireball or very bright engine thrust, it appeared to be ascending as oppose to coming twards us. it continued to ascend sporadicly with manovers of quick vertical to aright bursts of movement before flashing a few times then diving down to the ground like a shooting star after assending for a few minutes. this was followed by 3-4 more of the same ascending redish lights , however none of the others appeared to dive or fall like the first. the lights stopped after 20 minutes or so.
