A companion and I, were sitting on our deck, at our campsite in a campground within the White Mountain National Forest in Warren, NH. It was overcast night and we could not see any stars. We were finishing some tasks and decided to sit and have a cigarette. It was around 1 AM, as I spoke with my husband on the phone at 12:51 AM. My companion and I were chatting and making sarcastic jokes and conversation. Then I was laughing and as I laughed, I leaned back over the top of my seat and quickly glanced over my shoulder. I thought I saw the full moon up and over my right shoulder. I was facing approximately the direction of north and it was over my right shoulder to the south. The moon is never there at that time of night. I asked my companion to look and see if it was the moon. She replied "nope" without moving from her spot. So, I said "Why not?? Isn't that the moon?". She said, "It is in the wrong spot to be the moon". Without any emotional response we extinguished our cigarettes, slowly I gathered our belongings off the table, and then we went indoors. We stayed inside the trailer for about a half hour or so and it was 2:12 AM. Deciding to be brave and thinking it may have left, my companion and I then decided to go back out to the deck for another cigarette and sat in the same places. IT was still there!!!! My companion could now see it without having to move in order to observe it, whereas before she could not and had refused to observe it. It had changed its position, as it was now up more to the right in the sky and higher behind the trees and it was the size of the full moon!!! It did not make sound, did not move, it just hovered. The last known full moon, was the Thunder moon on July 9, 2017. Not only did it match the size of the full moon, it was in font of the clouds. It was a bright yellow and did not give off ambient light. Nothing around it was light up! Not the trees, not the sky, and not the campsite below its location or anywhere else. Nothing looked like it was bathed in ambient moonlight!!! We ignored it. Kept repeating to ourselves it is just the moon. Finished our cigarettes and went back inside the trailer. Fell asleep about 50 minutes later and nothing else happened.
