Was driving in darkness down hwy 292 from inman towards hwy 29. open field bordered by tall pines (80-90ft tall?) ahead and towards my right. observed extremely bright white strobe appearing to move between the trees ahead. one pulse/strobe=one movement to the right, about 100 ft a pulse/strobe. moved equal distance for 5-6 strobes,then poof was gone. but almost in a blink, it was behind me perhaps half a mile back and moving on. it appeared to make an instantaneous direction (90 degrees) and location change. i saw it behind me from the bright glow of the strobe and because i was watching it. it was weird.... so low to the ground. no airports there; have no idea at all what it was. amazing intense light! i lost sight of it because i continued driving, and it was moving too fast to remain in my sight. i felt amazed and baffled.
