First noticed a very bright white sphere North/Northwest of town approximately 15 degrees above the horizon. Time was 9:50 PM CST. Object moved vertically, descended, and then reduced brightness and size to dim pinpoint. I watched the object move further West before it blinked out entirely. It then reappeared to the West/Northwest of my location at its original size and brightness. I observed the object for approximately 30 minutes as it performed many different maneuvers in an area that was composed of a band of the sky roughly 65 degrees in width, and from 15-55 degrees above the horizon. The object would cross a horizontal line of approx. 20 degrees in less than 1.5 seconds, shift course 90 deg. and then move in a serpentine manner for a few seconds. These 90 and occasional 45 degree turns were not always followed by the serpentine movement, so I believe it was not a "wobble" created by the maneuver. It would at sometimes "corkscrew" upwards or down. Many sharp direction changes were observed. I noticed that when other recognizable aircraft moved into the same quadrant of sky, the object would revert to its pinpoint appearance; if the identifiable aircraft were moving towards the center of the object's area, the object would disappear from view entirely until the aircraft had moved beyond its area of operation. This object was also observed by a neighbor as I felt it necessary to have another witness. At this time, the neighbor wishes to remain anonymous. The entire event took place over a 30 minute span and ended abruptly.
