At about 20H20 I stepped outside my back door to get some fresh air and check around my garden as is customary before I lock up for the night. I also glance up at the sky to get an idea of the next days weather. What I saw this time stopped me in my tracks. Apparently two bright stars that were really close together suddenly split up with one rapidly moving to the left and the other to the right. The lights slowed down and started a wandering jerky movement with no obvious direction. At first I thought airplane or some such thing. But then the brightest one made a curved pattern and then stopped. It then retraced its path. I now knew that this was most uncommon. I looked around and became aware of 3 such moving wandering lights. They were in a more or less north to south line with the southern one being either smallest or furthest away as it appeared dimmer. Partial cloud cover clearly showed these 3 objects to be separate from stars. At times they were extremely bright under the cloud cover. Then they seemed to dim or become smaller. This erratic movement and brightening and dimming continued for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The colour appeared to have blue hue. The 3 objects maintained a general positioning for this period. Cloud cover then thickened and visibility became problematic with objects seeming to be in between clouds.
