Hi, this was told to me by more father in his latter years. he was what i would call "no nonsense" and to hear the following from him caught me my the utmost surprise. he used to work as a mechanic fixing heavy machinery for a local industry during the night shifts in readiness for it to be used again during the daytime. one night in the 1980's he was driving to a piece of machinery in one of the "clay pits", and it was a simple job so he did not need any of his crew to go with him. the way that the mechanics used to get around the site was drive on "dirt tracks" between excavation sites, so he was driving to this particular piece of equipment and he saw a light in the night sky and did not think anything of it as he thought it was a plane from the local raf base which had a us deployment there at the time, and these were quite common. anyhow this light in the night sky kept on coming closer and his car came to an abrupt stop as a beam shone down from this light in the night sky which was directly above his vehicle and "hit" the car bonnet. all of the car's electronics went off - radio, headlights etc and this lasted for a "few minutes", the beam stopped abruptly and the strange light vanished just as quick. at this point, the electronics came back on and he was able to continue to his work assignment, albeit very shaken. when he finished work, he checked his car's engine and found a chalky ring in a perfect circle around the positive terminal of his car's battery. thank you for reading. wikipedia links for reference: https://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/st_austell_clay_pits https://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/raf_st_mawgan
