Now that my mother has passed and myself now older, we had a farm in Waverley, North of Wanganui and my mother drew my attention to a group of strange lights seen from my back gate looking Southeast towards Wanganui off the coast we thought. It was most unusual that these objects were to begin with quite stationary then in a split second they all would have been in another part of the sky. WE watched for at least 30 minutes as they performed the most incredible maneuvers to the point that my mind could not understand what i was seeing. Incredible speeds and then simply they would stop. We never spoke of this while my mother was alive though she did one day casually over lunch say she had had the most unusual experience in the hay paddock a field we closed off to animals so that we could bale in the summer for feed. She noticed in the Centre of the paddock a circle burnt area, yet out of the burnt period was quite normal. I asked how large it and she thought probably 30 feet across. I asked why she did not take a photo, she casually said then everyone would think I was crazy. She was born in 1914, a woman of sense and straight up and for her to mention this to myself and my partner we were bother shocked. Looking back on her as a person i frankly think she was quite an open and intuitive person.
