I was standing on my patio and looked up to see what the weather was doing. The direction I looked was north east. I noticed what first appeared to be a plane but thought that this was the a completely different flight path than I had ever seen before. I watched the light for a few more seconds and realized that the light had not changed position which could only mean that it was stationary, or hovering. I began to watch the object over the next few minutes at which time it began to change directions really abruptly, both vertically and horizontally while still staying within the viewing angle created by trees in the neighboring yards. I have lived in Belton for almost 30 years all together including the period of time when the now closed Air Force Base was operational. I am very accustomed to seeing planes fly at night, including Air Force fighters, and have never seen any plane that could maneuver in such a manner. While viewing the object I noticed the neighborhood dogs began barking and witnessed one dog start running all over the neighbor's yard as if it were chasing something.
