Iowa MUFON State Director, Beverly Trout, interviewed witness by phone re a sighting witness had reported to NUFORC, which is listed on the Iowa Database under the date of 7/24/05 at 10:10 p.m.. Witness was an out-of-state participant in an annual bicycle ride-across-Iowa known as "Ragbrai." Witness' original report is very descriptive, and the only point needing clarification is that when the triangle moved from horizontal to vertical, it headed straight up. Certainly this witness seems to be a very observant individual, and since he resides in the vicinity of the Atlanta, Georgia, airport, he is familiar with airliner approach altitudes, and so was able to not only estimate altitude, but was confident in his size estimation as much larger than a normal aircraft.((NUFORC Note: We express our gratitude to Beverly Trout, State Director of the Iowa Chapter of MUFON, for following up on this report, and for sharing her findings.
