In a remote rural area in Vernon County, Wisconsin, dark clear night, observed a red steady light followed by a white globe light alternating from bright to dim at regular intervals. First observed the lights at about 40 degrees over the north horizon, traveling in a straight line due south until it disapeared to the south horizon. Emmiting from the object were yellow/orange fireballs similar to military weapon tracer rounds toward the east and west at erratic sequence intervals. This object continued on steady course. Total time of travel was about 20-30 seconds. Because there were no reference points it is unknown what speed or altitude this object was traveling. There was no sound. I am a USAF veteran, come from a family of WW-2 pilots, airline pilot and flight instructors, have much aviation experience myself, and still fly ultralights. Never saw anything like this object before.
