Traveling along route six in Seekonk, children & I spotted a stationary Red/Amber star like light sitting in the horizon. My family & I know that many airliners come toward route six and either turn to go toward Warwick and that sometimes the airliners head lights shine directly toward you when you view them, but this was different. It was different because this light did not turn, or change position, (when a plane does change position, it's headlights usually do not shine directly toward people observing) it just lingered in its spot & when we entered the store for brief shopping and came back out, it was still there. I watched it while I drove down route six and neared east providence & decided to see if we could find a better spot to observe, since the object did not look as high as a star & was low, perhaps lower than a plane, i wasnt sure, so curiosity got the better of me.We turned around and headed toward wampanaug trail & tried to get on Wamp. Trl from route six & saw it above the tree line, not too close & not too far, i am figuring it was the level ground we were at, some higher spots than others caused it to look either higher in the sky or lower. As we were sitting in traffic at a red light, we observed two red, solid color points of light, which looked like the size of pin heads compared to the original object which was on the left. No blinking was made by any objects. One of the tiny red dots moved down & the other moved upward. Very slowly. Almost as if you could not notice.Curiousity got me even more & I drove the Trail until we were able to get to Riverside rhode island and we could tell now that the light we were observing was more toward over the water, but way too high to be a boat light. It still remained stationary and as we were going down the street, we came toward a golf course on our right hand side and still could see the object beaming brightly. We could no longer see the additional solid pin size red lights.Driving some more we decided to go to Sabins Pt and check it out by the closest water edge and when we arrived, apparently, the sky was empty.The whole time of viewing this object from the first notice of it, was approximately 45 minutes. The whole time of pursuing this object and trying to see it better and clearer and find its location was 25 minutes/ 30 minutes. If it were a plane, the headlights of a plane would have changed course within a minute or two, or even seconds. I felt as though the object was not ordinary and if it were, we wouldnt have had the curiousity to figure it out and just gone home.I posted this sighting because there was another person who apparently reported seeing a red light seen in MA & I thought it helpful if I came forward to let them know that I had seen something quite similiar.The time of event was about anywhere from 6-8pm (we didnt look at the time when it was seen) The date was exactly Friday ( before the snow storm) December 19, 2008.
