I was off roading in the Manti-La Sal National Forest Northwest of Monticello UT. The night of December 17, 2013 while camping on the Southern edge of Canyonlands National Park I witnessed an object moving across the sky at about 8:00 pm. The object was emitting a light of golden color and was moving fairly low to the ground. Periodically (every couple minutes) it would stop, hover, then descend to the ground, lift back up (after about 5 minutes) continue to travel low to the ground and repeat sequence. As the ship came closer I could detect a low "rumble" sound unlike that of a helicopter or high flying airplane, but more like a freight train. This lasted for about an hour and a half as the ship continued the sequence as it travelled close to our location changing directions in an apparent effort to locate suitable "landing" locations. In the morning we went to an area we believed the ship to have landed and found several recently dead cows and one dead coyote in about a 25 yard radius. The cows appeared to have their stomachs torn open (possibly by the coyote after they were dead), and the coyote had no visible external wounds. Other than the dead animals there was nothing abnormal about the site.
