I was on Northpointe Blvd, going west towards Shaw Rd. I observed a fairly large for the elevation, object with large bulbus (bulky) very bright red and white lights, nothing like a plane as there were planes in the area at normal altitude. This object appeared to be the size of a large pick-up or maybe two side by side. I can't say the color exactly, but it seemed shiny like chrome or something... It appeared to be roughly 2000' above the neighborhood lake and stopped and hovered when I stopped to look at it. It was 5:20ish in the morning. It hovered for a few seconds, then traversed eastward rapidly for maybe what appeared to be 500' stopped, hovered for a few more seconds and then continued its path southeast towards Hwy 249 at Spring Cypress. The strange lights are what first caught my attention and caused me to stop on the side of road. A vehicle behind me also stopped, but we did not get out and talk to one another. Once it continued on its path, I headed on to work. I didn't know what it was, but it was strange and it was not an airplane or helicopter. I had my window rolled down and heard no sound other than my vehicle. I lost sight of the object when it passed the tree line.
