At approximately 17.45 hrs on Monday 21 November 2016, just after garaging my car in its lock-up close to my home, I was startled by a whooshing / whistling sound overhead and behind me. Looking up, I clearly saw a lantern / balloon-shaped object, or craft, shooting across the sky. The exact altitude of the object was difficult to assess, as it was travelling extremely fast. There were no discernible lights but there was a jet-engine-type flame flaring out behind it. In the time it took me to reach my house (no more than 90 seconds), the "craft" was disappearing over the horizon in a generally SSW direction. This was my first experience of what might be classified as a UFO. Did anyone else witness such a sighting that evening?
