I went out at 10:30pm on sunday august 13th with my son to look for meteors. i googled which direction the pleiades were and we started looking towards the ne. while looking up, and keeping our heads stationary, i saw a bright flash to my left a bit and saw this star, which was 10 times bigger and brighter than the iss when it goes over head. it blinked out after a solid second, but it wasn't an instant off, it kind of phased out. i asked my son if he saw it and he said no. about 4 minutes later, in the exact same spot it phased on, solid second, phased out. this one my son did see. about 4 minutes later it did the exact same thing. about ten minutes later it was back, same exact process, but it only did it twice, and it was about 2 feet to the left and a foot lower. about ten minutes later it was back, same process, but only did it once, and this time farther to the left and up a little higher. by 11.30 the clouds had rolled in and our visibility was lost.
