First off, let me start out by stating that, this tiny town has very little light pollution, and so the stars are incredibly visible, especially on clear summer nights such as this one. It's so in the summer the summer that you can see the nebula of the milky way and all the thousands of stars in it, as well as many blinking satellites and shooting stars. Since the only planes that fly over the area fly at daytime, that, take away the possibility of sightings being misidentified aircraft. But anyway I'm stating this just to say that things in the sky were easily visible. now on to my sighting. It was about 9:30 at night, and I was heading into my Parent's bay front home from being outside and stargazing. I sat down to watch some tv on the couch in the living room. Behind the tv are two, big sliding glass door widows that are like 10 feet wide. they look out onto the beach and some islands that are roughly one and a half miles from the house. About 10 minutes into watching Tv, I see this green ray of light in the upper left corner of the left window, and it shoot down towards the water, all the while remaining green and really bright. I thought it was going to crash into the water, but then the green light went out and I saw a cigar shaped black and white striped craft. I'm assuming it wasn't actually white, and that the white part on the object were lights. So after the green light went out I saw the cigar shaped object for a couple more second continuing to head diagonally down towards the water, by this time the object had past over into the right window. the cigar object was there for a second or two, heading towards the water, and then it was gone. No trace of it left behind, and no splash from it entering the water. It was probably a mile away, judging by how it lit up the islands near it when it was bright green. To this day I think of what it could be, but it's hard to tell, even for me; this whole event took place in less than ten seconds.
