My mother and i were driving on i-35 in a sw direction past gardner, ks well before dawn this morning when i noticed what resembled a satellite - except for the green color - approaching ahead of us and to the left. we intersected its path about 10 to 15 seconds later. i was driving so lost sight of it as it flew over, but my mother observed its underside as it continued on to the nnw and saw an unknown number of dimmer reddish lights outlining a cylinder shape with the green light which was first seen taking up the rear of the cylinder. it continued out of sight within several more seconds. i'm an avid satellite-watcher and am also a trained mufon investigator formerly working with mufon colorado and am always looking at the sky, which is why i took note of this. with no blinking lights on it, i'm sure it was no conventional aircraft, or if it was it was flying illegally and apparently without wings. i'm tempted to contact the faa but figure i'll let mufon ks follow up on this if desired.
