I woke up monday night around 3am and noticed a very bright light in the sky to the east. when i focused on it, i saw red and green lights that pulsated. it was so bright, i assumed that it was a planet at first. i realized that the positioning was wrong on the horizon and that this couldn't be a planet. to confirm, i pulled out my phone and used the skyview lite app, which uses the phone camera to real-time identify objects in the sky. i became concerned when my phone camera was unable to pick up the object to take a picture, yet the fainter background stars were clearly observable on my phone. i tried to take a few more pictures, so i could at least look up the positioning, but was unable to get this bright light on my camera. at this point, i go outside on my east-facing patio and believe i'm either seeing a plane or a helicopter. i'm freaked out by the phone camera thing, so i stand outside until at least 4am - thinking that this "plane" is going to fly over me any minute. it does not change position in the sky at all, even with the motion of the other celestial objects. i asked myself if this was a news-traffic-helicopter, placing itself in the sky for footage - but just the timing of it alone debunks that. my bed is on the first floor and also faces east. i went back to my bed and discovered that i have a clear vantage point of the light. i watch the unmoving light in the sky until i fall asleep after 5am.
