While walking my dogs heading south along 60th street before dawn, i saw a "bar" of white light moving in a straight line to the se. my first impression was maybe it was a group of lighted drones moving in formation, but there were no individual points of light. my best approximation is if you held a sewing needle at arm's length against the sky, that was it's size in both length and width. basically, a flying, lit sewing needle. it glowed uniformly along its entire length, with no points of light at either end nor in between, almost like a plane with a very powerful, focused, single beam emitting in a forward direction. hard to tell it's relative size, height, or distance but it must have been large and perhaps at least one mile away. no sound, no movement other than forward while maintaining it's shape, height, and direction consistently for at least one minute, maybe two. it then gradually faded from view into the distance/horizon. completely clear sky, a half hour before dawn, so it wasn't light reflecting off clouds or atmospheric haze. that's it, i thought it was odd, and i've never seen anything like it in the sky before.
