I was westbound on us highway 6 from fleming, colorado toward sterling colorado at approximately 10pm. the weather was clear and visibility was approximately 10 miles. when i was 8 miles west of fleming i drove down into a draw then up an approaching hill. as i top this rise it is about a half mile to the next rise and a lefthand curve. at this point i observed across a draw to my left a bright light traveling east towards me along the path of the highway. i estimated the light to be 3 miles ahead, plenty of time to slow down just in case it was the highway patrol, (the speed limit then was 70mph, i was moving along at 80-85mph). it was common on this highway to see the glow on the horizon of an oncoming vehicle so i figured that i had 1 1/2 to 2 minutes safety margin. as i began slowing for the 50mph lefthand curve about a quarter of a mile away i dropped into a low spot in the highway losing sight of the approaching light. suddenly the light appeared on the curve in front of me traveling at an extreme rate of speed. as the bright blue/white light object streaked past my vehicle my headlights went bright, the radio, windshield wipers, heater blower motor and emergency flashers all came on simultaneously. then just as suddenly it disappeared over the hill behind me and everything returned to normal. from first observation of the light to its disappearance i estimated only 10-15 seconds had elapsed.
