I live about 3 miles North West from the nearest town, noted above. I went outside to let my dog out to do her thing at about 2:58 am. As I was looking at the horison I saw a large ball of light shoot stright up at high speed to approximately 80 feet. I thought some idiot had set off a comercial firework and I was expecting an explosion. Instead it just hung moitionless in the air approximately 3/4 mile away, and after a few seconds, the light dimmed and I could see a lighted disk, silvery color, with red, blue, and I believe green light that seem to be on the outer edge of the disk. I soon realised it was moving away in a south-west direction from me slowly and soon I could only see the glow of the disk. It then started being blocked by the trees and other obstructions. I went back to bed. Had trouble going to sleep though.
