My family and I were coming home from picking up some food at the foot of the Milton hill in Kentucky. 3/4 of the way up the hill to the first curve my daughter and I noticed a strange object in the sky that was directly in front of us off in the distance across the river on the Indiana side. It appeared to be out towards the Hanover or Lexington Indiana area. It was long, black and skinny but solid. It was not completely straight, it appeared to be curved on the end but not like a hook, just slightly. May have been boomerang shaped depending on how the object was turned but looked straight with a curve on one end. It was very distinct in the sky and appeared to be quite large. I would say that it was an inch and a half long from where we were, which is several miles away. We watched the object and my husband was trying to see it without wrecking the car so he slowed down and we went around the curve and some trees obstructed our view and when we came back to a small clearing the object was gone. Which means it literally disappeared. It was not clouds and there were vapor trails from planes around and they looked nothing like this thing. It was clearly solid and simply was there one second and gone the next. My daughter and I first remarked that it looked like a black worm in the sky or maybe a french fry. It really caught us off guard because I've been up that hill hundreds of times since I've lived here and it caught my eye instantly because it stuck out like a sore thumb. We only saw the object for around 10-15 seconds and then it disappeared.
