I was on a municipal camping site.It is located on the SE shore of Lac St Jean, Qc. there were at least a dozen campers. Around 10 pm an orange, reddish disc or sphere was sighted by many of us. It was moving from S to N in a straight line, much like a satellite. Its color and apparant size was inconsistent with a satellite. I do not know its altitude, because the object seemed to have no feature and I had no reference to judge against. It crossed the sky in less than 10 seconds at about 35 degres elevation to the w of my position. I disapeared to the north probably obscured by altocumulus. Maybe 5 minutes later another identical object or light passed on the same course, but at about 50 degres elevation, almost overhead. I dissmissed the chinese lantern for the following reasons: We were under a high pressure system over Quebec on that night, so the upper winds were calm. Moreover there was a strong land breeze from E to W, wich was inconsistent with the path of the object, if it was a lantern. I know what a satellite looks like, and it was definetly not one. I have asolutely no idea what it was. At first tought it was ICBMs from the US on a polar ballistic course towards Russia. But we are still here... so I guess I was wrong.
