two bright yellow lights above the airport. I was on the ramp north of the C concourse looking up and noticed what appearred to be a satellite. There was minimal cloud cover that night. The base of the clouds were 9,500 feet with a ceiling of 12,000 feet. Here is what really caught my attention...the light was moving through the clouds illuminating them. This light was moving was bound. The light then dissappeared and another light appeared in the same area moving south bound. At their altitude the sppeds were less than 100 mph based on the spped of West Jet flying north at 35,750 feet. These lights were well below that aircraft. Best part four F-16's from Hill were on scene in about ten minutes. The 16's were in pursuit of these lights. These was about 9:30 pm. The same light appeared last night and moved above the airport also moving south then east throught clouds. Total viewing time for both events was about 10 minutes. The lights are about the same size of the lights on the hangers at Hill which ware visible from the airport and parts of SLC.
