Make what you want of this but I do believe it was a UFO. Having never seen anything like it, I decided it was a most unusal falling star at very close range initially. It came from nowhere and for about 5-10 seconds was on the left of me - and went down behind the landscape. I saw it sometime between 9pm and 1am as I was driving home from NSW with my daughter asleep in the car, I believe I had just passed the Orbost exit on the A1. It was just a very bright yellowish white light in an oblong shape moving very fast from over my left back to my left front. Initially I thought wow a falling star but as I looked at it I thought that is the strangest shape for a falling star much wider and longer than any falling star but having seen nothing like it until the other day I decided I have now seen 3 or 4 falling stars in my lifetime and left it at that, problem solved. However, the other day I recognised it as being the same as some UFO's on a UFO/alien you-tube video I watched which has brought me to your sight. It wasn't high in the sky, much brighter and thinker than a falling star and splitting image of those white oblong UFO's in the youtube video. So there you have it, date is correct, cannot say for sure what it was and just putting it out there.
