Witness Testimony

"While camping in Hays State Park we sitting at the fire when we noticed a bright red light coming from the south ascending slowly. The object was red with a yellow inner glow. It almost looked like a Chinese lantern that was on fire or had a candle burning inside of it the way the light flickered. We were sitting in a stand of trees. As the object got closer it got higher and went up over the tree line. We followed it with our eyes as it headed north continuing over the trees. Once it had cleared our campground it was out of our line of sight. The whole event took less than 2 minutes start to finish. It never made any noise. And we tried to get other campers around us to observe it. The sky was completely clear and you could see airplanes in the distance. It was frightening at first as it was coming towards us. I almost thought it would get caught in the trees. "
