The sky was cold and clear this evening as viewed from my car. i was traveling southbound on m-19 between memphis and richmond (michigan) when i looked ahead and to the left (which would be se) and became aware of a line of starlike objects moving se at low speed. they were equally spaced and of constant brightness. they reminded me of satellites but i thought it was extremely unlikely to have so many, all with equal spacing. they gradually continued se until i lost sight of them. local winds were from the nw so i suppose they could have been "sky lanterns" released a few minutes apart and allowed to rise to altitude and drift downwind towards the se.
