I live in south benfleet in essex, england, about 30 miles from london, on the thames estuary. we had just finished our evening meal, it was 7.05pm when my son called me out again, as it was two night ago, to see the same unusual lights in the partly cloudy sky. he pointed out to me two lights, one following the other travelling from north-west to south-east. he had spotted another one before calling me, all travelling in the same direction. then another followed these, moving at an identical speed, in the same direction. the distance between the lights were equidistant, with each one closely following the other, ten seconds behind. as we continued to observe them, another light appeared, again keeping the same distance from each other. this time it was a total of seven moving in a procession. again all the lights we observed were silent, with no navigation lights. as two nights ago, accompanying these lights was a light which flashed, travelling in the same direction but seemed slower to the eye. i timed the flashes at 10 second intervals travelling in the same direction as the moving lights. each time the flash seemed to dim before disappearing., then 10 seconds later the same flash but further to the south-east.
