My daughter and i were in our backyard in chicago, il. we were looking at venus, which was right next to the moon, to the west. i had my sky map app open on my phone and i was showing her other stars. we turned to the south and saw a line of lights moving quickly, in an exact straight line, from the west to the east. there were approximately 10-15 lights and they kind of looked like a morse code string. *** ** ** * *** * ** that is not an exact representation but they were evenly spaced and in groups of varying numbers. they looked like a train travelling across the night sky. we saw them for approximately 10-15 seconds when they all disappeared when they reached a certain point in the sky. as my daughter described, they looked like they were going behind a black piece of paper. we were both amazed as the weirdness of it. i live a few blocks away from midway airport and have most of my life. this happened almost above the airport, just to the south east. i could not tell the distance but the airport should have some sort of information. i have seen thousands of planes, hundreds of helicopters, and dozens of blimps. this was none of those. they all seemed to disappear as they approached the airport but they did see to be far away in the night sky. they were about the brightness of a star. they looked similar to seeing a satellite or falling star. the fact that they were in an exact straight line flying straight across the sky, not elevating or descending, and then completely disappearing at the exact same spot in the sky as they approached it, makes a satellite or falling star unlikely. i'm not sure how much the airport would be but if you have connections there, i'd ask them about it. that was an almost exact time, i called my girlfriend as they were disappearing and noted the time.
