My wife and I were looking out of our picture window to the south, at our lovely view of south San Diego/Mission Bay/Pacific Ocean, with Tijuana further south. All of a sudden, I saw seven or eight orange lights low and rising in the sky. The lights slowly moved up and down and sideways. Then, after 10 minutes or so of slowly and gracefully drifting around, the lights went out, one by one. These lights were clearly not airplanes (the flight path to Lindbergh Field tonight was left to right/east to west), and the airplanes approaching and landing at Lindbergh were white and in their usual formation (queued up to land). These lights were clearly not the Sea World fireworks, which start shortly before 9 p.m. or 10 p.m., nor were they the occasional Humphreys or Mission Beach/Bay fireworks. These lights were directly to our south, and were either over Tijuana (25 miles away), Coronado (15 miles away), or Point Loma (10 miles away).
