Object seen when i was walking past wordsworth house down crown street towards aldi (west). it was visible for approx 1 minute before it left my line of sight) i saw a semi-transparent white/yellow object below cloud cover, i checked flightradar24. there were no planes in the vicinity, certainly not at that altitude. i knew it was low, probably between 1000 and 2000ft but i checked the isstracker anyway to discount it. the iss was currently passing the coast of south africa. the object appeared to be moving slowly, in aviation terms anyway, no more than 50mph. it most definitely was not an aircraft, star, or firework. the sun was semi-glinting off of it and the object was not of a defined shape, more star like/rounded and it did not appear to have lights. the sun was just starting to go down, though it was still daylight and the sky was blue though it did pass below a cumulus cloud which helped determine its approx altitude. the only thing i could imagine it could be was a drone (though its motions seemed too smooth and constant) or a chinese lantern. it was observed at 15:40 on 11/11/18 and the object itself would have been over the southern end of cockermouth, somewhere near the oakhurst roundabout/the a66.
