(Around K2H 1E3, intersection of Corkstown Road and Crystal Beach Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) I was walking in the neighbourhood one early autumn night. The air was pretty still, but nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. While walking home northeast on Corkstown Road (in the direction of Carling Avenue/Bayshore), I noticed something 5 to 8 meters above the road at the intersection with Crystal Beach Drive. I thought it was maybe a balloon, drone, or bubble at first. I slowed my pace as I drew closer to get a better look, but I noticed it didn't behave or look like any of those things. I figured it might have been some trick of the light, maybe a car's rear headlights reflecting off objects in the environment and hitting my eyes in just the right way or something (almost no matter the temperature, mirages can be seen on the road surface looking down that stretch of Corkstown Road), but no, it clearly wasn't anything like that. It was like a glass or crystal ball, about 1 to 2 feet in diameter. No seams, no rivets, no antenna, no screws, a perfect sphere. It was clear/transparent and appeared to refract the image of its surroundings. There seemed to be two red interior lights in the bottom half of the sphere, they did not seem to cast any light outside of the sphere, and were not bright at all. The inner center was an obscuring darkness, I couldn't make out anything in it. The sphere floated silently, slowly, and steady in the air. When I got closer, the sphere ascended slowly over the houses on the right of me, and above the trees out of sight. I then went for a longer walk in a different direction instead of straight home as I originally planned, my heart racing and mind racking as I tried to work out what I saw. I didn't see it again, and haven't since.
