I was in Monroe, Ohio going to a friends house. Sitting in the back of the car and looking out the left window I noticed a glowing orange/red object falling from the sky. I thought it may have been a meteor then, but I had never seen one and wasn't sure. I pointed it out and everyone in the car started looking at it also thinking it was a meteor. As it got closer to Earth the object broke into 4 glowing orange/red falling objects, which further convinced us it was a meteor falling and breaking up. The objects falling then became 3, and disappeared for 3 seconds, only to be immediately replaced by 3 bright white 'stars' (as they seemed to be). These stars stayed in that place for a few more seconds while we started trying to figure out what they were, when the 3 'stars' rose up a bit in unison and began to go forward over the fields. There seemed to be a very faint orange line connecting the 3 'stars'. Then another 'star' appeared and joined the others, connected by the same thin thread. We followed it in the car the best we could (probably about a mile away?)for 4 minutes, the whole time it continued flying over the fields, adding a 5th star at one point, and then loosing 2, and 1 reappearing, and eventually there were only 2 'stars' and then they disappeared, getting too low behind trees for us to see. I am not sure if it or they landed or simply became invisible, and we did not investigate.
