Had a sighting this evening when i was putting rubbish outside, sighting was of from 30 to 60+ (lost count) white lights, of starlike appearance travelling in a linear formation. all appeared to be first visible from the same location in the night sky and were all travelling in the same direction (from roughly south west to north east) with varying distances between the lights but all appeared to be travelling at the same speed. we are in an area of passenger aircraft flight paths, there were several aircraft in our vicinity at the time of the sighting but all were at a much lower altitude and were all showing flight recognition lights, which the sighted lights had no visible lights other than the white ones observed. weather at the time of this sighting was clear sky, no clouds. new moon and venus were visible low in the southern sky, wind speed was low (7mph) and in a direction from the south at ground level and air temperature was 7 degrees celsius.
