Location of sighting 51 degrees 4' 36'' n 1degree 52' 43'' w. clear night. stars visible at entry point and exit point. no clouds. visually what looked like a bright star began moving from the west at about 40 degrees on a bearing of approximately 60 degrees towards the east. after about 10 seconds it was apparent that it wasn't a star as it was moving quickly like an aeroplane at 30000 ft, there was no sound, which suggests it may have been at a higher altitude, then another light appeared and followed on the same track and heading, then another until about 9-15 of these light were moving in a very straight line, with military spaced precision for about and to an elevation to the observer of about 60 degrees. then as each light came to the same spot it disappeared. total time overall was about 5-7 minutes. the raf do not fly in that formation, nor do they fly a 9/15 ship at night over uk. if it was the usaaf, why no sound, why appear and disappear at the same point on a clear night? wonder if they appeared on high altitude radar?
