My moms (jenn and chris) and i live in the forested mountains, and its pretty quite out here, away from the cities. we like to bird watch and stargaze, and we love being able to get a good view of the constellations and venus, where we're at. recently, we got some binoculars, and figured we'd see if we could catch a good glance at some stars one night. there's always been this one star that looked mostly redish in color, and it seems to hover around in the sky- always the same place, every night at least since we've noticed it. but now we have zoom vision, thanks to binoculars (haven't gotten a good telescope yet)! with closer individual inspection, we saw that the object was a disc shape, not unlike the stereotypical ufo depiction, and the disc itself seemed to be made of silver light or emitting light or something in that shape. where a tall dome would have been in the classic depiction, however, there were several lights circling around one side of the disc. there were at least three lights- red, blue, green, possibly combinations between- and they seemed to be swarming in a pattern, but those were too fast moving to be able to tell. we've lived here for almost 4 years now, and i can even see it on my drive home from work at night. its really cool to be able to get a little closer to something that's kinda always been there!
