I was riding back in a work van on highway 74 westbound (approx. in the SE part) in Rockingham, NC from a job site on 2/10/2022 around 8:14pm with my coworker (who was driving). He initially noticed two non-blinking / static lights, a blue-green to teal light on the left and a red light on the right side of the object. It appeared to move across the highway from left to right laterally and once he got my attention, I looked up and first thought it was a tower with a red light on top. As far as I know, most towers’ lights blink and there is only one light for each level or height that a light is designated to be on for tower construction. As soon as I realized that the two lights were moving in tandem, I knew that we were witnessing something pretty strange. I quickly rolled down my window as he slowed down and there was not a bit of noise emanating from this object. As it passed us, I stuck my head out of the window to further observe its movements. I noticed three smaller white lights (maybe the source of its propulsion) at the rear of the object. It then made a maneuver that I am fairly certain no fixed-wing aircraft could ever make… it made an extremely smooth 180° turn on a DIME in under 2 seconds (I was careful to observe the positioning of the lights and their orientation throughout the maneuver). Once it had turned, it appeared to take on a trajectory or flight path that made it appear as if it was landing. Immediately following the very quick 180° maneuver, the speed of the object seemed to increase relative to its speed before that point). It then was obscured by the tree line off in the distance. This is the first time I’ve ever witnessed anything like it. My coworker has seen 3 other objects prior to this, all at night but not in this state.
