Sighted near a lagoon over the Loddon River on Sunday the 10th of September 2023 around 02:15am, a 20m in diameter dark graphite grey coloured saucer shaped "craft" hovering just above the huge red river gum trees. It was silent and there were no lights to be seen on it, like it didn't want to be spotted - it was about 3-4m in height at the peak of its dome shape and had like an instep in its underbody shape around it, so not a total saucer shape, but the nearest thing I can describe. It could be clearly seen by me against the darker background sky. I noticed it behind my home when I took my dog out into the garden for a pee and turned around to walk back up the path to the house, I usually do star gaze as there is little light pollution here. I was only outside for about 2 mins with the dog. I was shocked at how close it was to the treetops. I stared at it for what seemed ages but could only have been around 20 secs. I was not dreaming. I've never seen what I would call a UAP that shape before. I've seen min-min lights and a few strange things over the years, but not a UAP. I'm assuming it was not human-made, but who knows! I called the dog who didn't appear to notice it and hurried indoors locking the door behind me. I didn't have a camera with me or a phone just to let the dog outside, but I will from now on. I wasn't scared, I was a bit unnerved and amazed by this big dark thing holding its position with no sound. After about 10 mins pacing about and not having a clear view of that area out of a window, I picked up my camera and went outside again to get a photo if it was still there. It wasn't and I had heard nothing. No sign of anything or upset to the plentiful wildlife or cattle close by. I did notice that the next morning, the lagoon had developed an algae of some sort all over the top of the water which wasn't there the day before. Keeping an eye on the treetops in case they start to die off or show signs of a toxin/radiation. The algae could be attributed to the weather heating up and that the river weir was opened to let the levels down, so the lagoon is suddenly warmer and very shallow.
